Todd Brown asked:

Bill was once quoted as saying something along the lines of,

“Microsoft has had lots of competitors over the years. It’s a good thing we have museums to record those moments in history.”

Ouch. Not a good thing to think about if you were one of those competitors, that’s for sure.

But, you certainly don’t need to be a competitor of Microsoft to feel the sting of business competition.

With the quantity of chiropractors in practice today, and the quantity of new doctors coming into the profession every year,

I’m sure you’d agree, it’s a pretty darn crowded and competitive chiropractic marketplace out there.

The number of shrinking incomes and struggling doctors, certainly confirms that.

So, how do you go about being on the winning side… the success side… of chiropractic business competition, instead of on the losing, struggling side?

2 ways…

1. DIFFERENTIATION.

2. USING YOUR PRACTICE METRICS PROPERLY.

Let’s talk about differentiation first.

In order to excel in a crowded profession, you must be able to show prospective patients and active patients what makes you and chiropractic care in your office different from what every other doctor or chiropractic office is offering.

Mainly, you must offer patients benefits and unique value they can’t get from one of the other local doctors competiting with you.

And, if you really want to protect your practice and income from current competition and any future competition, you must learn how to position your chiropractic practice uniquely in the mind of consumers.

In other words, you’ve got to learn how, through your marketing, to have prospective chiropractic patients view your chiropractic practice compared to others, as if comparing apples to oranges.

This only happens when you take proactive action to create that differentiated, unique positioning through your patient acquisition and retention methods.

And, here’s where your practice metrics come in…

Plain and simple, the only way to rapidly grow a chiropractic practice (and sustain it) is to understand and manage your key practice metrics (measurements/numbers).

Just like acquiring wealth and becoming financially free is all about properly managing and measuring certain numbers (i.e. your bank balance, your income, your expenses, etc.). The same applies to your chiropractic success.

Sadly, most chiropractic schools never teach this concept to graduating docs.

New chiropractors then go into an insanely competitive marketplace, with tons of practicing chiropractors, struggle to build their practices, and end up tremendously frustrated.

Can you blame them?

I certainly can’t.

Ricky Lim asked:

You can use a Zune as a media center, and you should buy one if you don’t have it already. It’s one of the latest media players launched and you can use it for both music, movies and to watch TV shows or for playing games. There are a lot of people buying the Zune and this increases the number of people that want Zune video downloads. Below you can find some tips on how to look for Zune videos.

Free video downloads for Zune.

There are a lot of places where you can find free video downloads on the Internet if you own a Zune. It’s not hard finding sites that offer free Zune video downloads, it’s actually a problem making sure that those files are safe to download.

Usually, sites that offer free zune downloads also have banner ads and pop-ups that can damage your computer with spyware or adware. You do get files for free but you can also get your personal information stolen and you could have problems if you get your PC hacked because of this.

Paid membership for lifetime unlimited video downloads for Zune.

If you decide to get a paid membership, you can have access to a an unlimited number of video downloads for the Zune for the rest of your life. You would have to pay about $40 for it but you could download all the TV shows, video files, games, music and movies that you want for your Zune.

And, the files aren’t dangerous for your computer because this is a paid membership. You pay for the membership once and you download as much as you want after that. This can save you a good amount of money and let you enjoy your Zune player.

2 million people are currently paying for membership on sites with Zune downloads and have access to a lifetime of access to these downloads. Can you believe that there are over 100 million files available on these sites?

Johnny Bristau asked:

Today’s hottest little gadget has taken the world by storm. Understandably so. The Zune portable multimedia player beats its competitors by a landslide with its crisp audio, crystal clear video, easy user interface, FM radio, and the much-applauded Wifi capability. Oh, and did I mention that it comes with an 80GB capacity? That’s more than enough space for those fantastic Zune downloads.

Get Lost!

Downloading your favorite music and videos to Zune is as easy as 1-2-3. With the right software, you can download to Zune to your heart’s content. It’s just a matter of knowing where to look for Zune downloads. One such software can be found in Zune Empire.

With over 300 million - and counting - zune downloads available, you can download whatever music floats your boat, from rock ‘n roll to hip-hop and old classics to the latest hits. You can get “emo” or get your groove on anywhere you want. You can easily hear every bass note and every guitar string from your Zune downloads with the Zune’s superior audio. Indeed, it’ll be so easy to get lost in your own life’s soundtrack.

Don’t get too lost just yet, however. You can also download movies to Zune. Different genres are available. If you want to watch your burgeoning DVD collection on the go, you can also download DVD to Zune. You can fall in love with Notting Hill, scream yourself hoarse with The Ring, and laugh yourself silly with There’s Something About Mary. You’ll enjoy watching your Zune downloads beyond high definition quality, so you’ll know exactly how “perfect” looks and sounds like. You won’t even notice that you’re watching your Zune downloads from a small, handheld screen. Now you can really lose yourself from the rest of the world.

Beyond Zune Downloads

More than just Zune downloads, Zune Empire’s software also has a score of tools and applications that will make your Zune experience an excellent one. Your Zune downloads are facilitated, so you know that you’re getting high-quality music and movie files and definitely not broken or corrupted ones. When you download a DVD to Zune, the software gives you the functionality of ripping the DVD - spectacular sound, picture and all - and converting the DVD movie format into the required Zune format. Similarly, it also lets you burn your Zune downloads into CDs and DVDs for backup storage, so you can make sure that you’ll never lose downloaded files ever again.

These may all seem overwhelming and daunting, to say the least, especially to those who are not very technologically savvy. Don’t fret because it isn’t. Installation can be done in just under three minutes and Zune Empire has made it easy for even the most technically-challenged laymen.

With the support offered, anybody can get the most out of his or her Zune software and player. Indeed, with the right Zune software and a score of Zune downloads, you can power up your Zune player, kick back, relax, and get lost in a whole new world of music and movies.

Rajinder asked:

At the outset, I will lay down the results of my research Introduction:

Strategies are strategies. Dismiss for a moment from your mind what some people are saying about Bill Gates’ offensive practices he used to transform himself from a small business entrepreneur to a titan in the business world. There are yet honest-to-goodness strategies we can glean from his sleeves. We can study, learn from them and possibly apply them in our own home based business. Upon this premise that this article was written.

Strategy of Bill Gates - Have a Vision:

on one secret strategy of Bill Gates. He used the same strategy to jump-start his small business to today’s business behemoth. Based on my research, the strategy of Bill Gates is grounded upon the following:

“Have a VISION of what you want to achieve

and hold on to that vision come wrath or

high water.”

His vision was:

“A Personal Computer on every desk.”

By the way, I didn’t want to use the grammatically correct expression “comes hell or high water” - for personal reason - so excuse my grammatical preference. Anyway, let’s go back to our subject. When you have a vision, you can make the impossible possible.

Almost everybody is familiar about how once upon a time the small business entrepreneur Bill Gates secured mighty IBM’s contract to supply the latter’s operating system. When he was negotiating with the IBM people, he had no operating system as yet. He was able to buy a Disk Operating System or DOS for $50 thousand. In the end, he got the contract. Why?

Bill Gates was guided by his vision - that every desk all over the world should have a computer on it. This vision enabled him to provide IBM with a DOS operating system and have control over it including to whom he wanted it sold to.

Beginning Entrepreneur:

Before he became an entrepreneur, Bill Gates had nurtured the vision that software will one day rule the world. During high school he spent many late nights with friend Paul Allen tinkering with the school’s computer system.

He dropped out of college after completing his junior year at Harvard. Instead, he and his bosom friend Paul Allen set up a small business - a software company - in far away New Mexico. This move was in accordance with his vision.

His vision became clearer as he moved from a total newbie to one with a small business to keep. His vision was clothed in clearer terms, as he negotiated the DOS deal with IBM.

Better late than never:

Bill Gates’ company ultimately became the leader in the software arena. During the first half of the 1990’s - 1993 to be exact - he was among the last of the software titans to acknowledge the future significance of the Internet.

But once he did realize that indeed Internet was the wave of the future, he had the tenacity to reshape his vision. His vision retained its old flavor - that is, software dominance in commerce, industry and in every field. It was rehashed in his own words as follows:

“In the years ahead, the Internet will have

an even more profound effect on the way

we work, live and learn … this technology

will be one of the key cultural and economic

forces of the early 21st century.”

At this moment in time, Bill Gates is guided by the vision that the Internet is the wave of the present and the foreseeable future.

Lessons Learned:

You can learn from Bill Gates by having your own vision for your small business. Lay down this vision in your mind. Then put it into writing. Read your vision everyday while at work in your small corner of the house. Your vision could be as short-term as the following:

“To make my web site land within the top five of

Google when people search for the keywords

‘home based business,’” or

“$200,000 earnings this year from Google

Adsense,”or

“To enrich the content of my web site using

the theme ’scrap book making.’”

Do not limit yourself to short-term vision. Aim for the long-term. A five to ten years period would suffice. Technology may change but your vision will essentially be the same. You may refine it if deemed necessary, like incorporating the effect of technological changes - as Bill Gates did.

Your Share of the Pie:

Everybody - from Bill Gates down to your netpreneur friend - has recognized the tremendous role of the Internet in business developments. Some of the more immediate pressing concerns you should consider at this stage concerning your home based business are the following:

- General preference for digital transactions by clients. For example, as a beginning Internet entrepreneur you should meet your clients’ demands who favor the use of online payment system.

At this juncture, I would like to refer you to my web site at InternetMarketingLearningCenter.com which offers free learning stuff on Internet marketing and home based business. One category being tackled in the web site is the online payment system. You may read online news and keep yourself abreast of the best software companion for your small business.

- Choose products that are preferred by people at this time when the Internet is dominating people’s lives. It has been determined that information products and web shopping are favored by most consumers. Information products include your very own eBooks and “how-to” manuals.

- Make it your aim that your products are cheap, very useful, and the best among the rest of competing products. This applies most especially to shopping products. For your own digital products, you have the advantage of pricing them according to your own estimation.

You as the author of your own digital product determine the price level. It is no wonder why gurus like Jay Abraham, Jim Daniels and the late Corey Rudl have become so wealthy from selling their own digital pieces.

As for these three, they will be among the titans that we will tackle in future issues of this series.

Would you Really Need a Zune Accessory?

burnslloyd asked:

Gadget shopping could really surprise you. any item you go shopping for would surely have accessories within five feet from that particular product. All the retailers want to do is to sell as much as possible. And this is true for almost all kinds of products. The Zune is the most recent in the market of Mp3 players and has comparatively lesser accessories than an iPod.

It is the least of possibilities that you have a Microsoft Zune player but have no accessories to it, no one would believe you if you said so. I did a quick search at my local electronic store and I was surprised when I found almost a dozen different accessories to add to my Zune player. Would you need them? You might not need all of them. But what’s wrong in knowing about the accessories that can be added to your Zune player.

If you are interested to buy a few Zune accessories then just read through this. These are a few accessories I thought people would be interested in.

1. Zune Armband – a great add on when you want to walk, jog , run or even play a few games. And it also looks really cool.

2. Zune FM Transmitter – Bored of the music on the player just turn on the Zune radio transmitter and listen to the news, some other informative programme or some other kind of music. It is just another addition to your Zune you might need.

3. Zune Skins – I am not exactly sure how much you would want this. But this particular accessory can give a new look to your Zune player, it just peps up your Zune player a bit.

4. Zune Case – I think this add on should be on top of the list of priorities of accessories. You by all means would sure want this product to save your screen from any kind of damage. They have a variety of cases out there, it all depends on you what you would like to buy.

Buying accessories for your Zune can be real fun with all the possibilities and accessories available in the market. I have just spoken about a few common accessories that would help you gain fairly good knowledge on the Zune accessories.

Zarqoo Zaimoo asked:

What can be more tasking and at the same time enjoyable thing to do with your Zune digital player than to do some Zune music download. In doing such, you are able to create a play list of your choice, compiled in a manner that appeals to your own taste of music. If it is your first time to experience doing some Zune music download, here are some things you can do to prep and tune up your Zune digital player.

If you have some CDs that you want to listen to or perhaps you just fancy a few on the list of songs, you can select these songs from your CD and place them on your Zune digital player. This is actually one of the basic and simplest ways to fill up your Zune player with something to listen to. Put in the CD of your choice to your PC’s CD drive then open your Zune music software. Here you will be able to find the list of songs in the CD. Select the ones you like to copy to your Zune player.

You already have some music files stored in your computer and you want to place these to your Zune digital player… is that possible? The answer is a YES. In a click of the “Rip” button, Zune is able to store music files in formats like .wma, .wmv, .mp3, .m4v and so much more. This is one reason that Zune has become one of the sought after digital music player available in the market today.

Another way to import your music files to your Zune digital player is by connecting it by means of a USB connector. After which, music files of your choice can be automatically imported to your player. If you want to do this on the regular, you can lessen the hassle by setting the “Sync” option to “Default” so that all music files stored will be connected to your player every time you plug it in.

Don’t go all hopeless if you don’t have music files on your PC, or CDs that can be transferred to your digital player. Zune music download is possible online. You can purchase tracks of your choice at websites that houses Zune compatible music files. Some of which offer a subscription fee that allows you to go on an unlimited downloading frenzy, and there are some that charge you per track of your choice. Most of these “tracks for a price” starts somewhere around 99 cents per track.

None of these items stated above will be possible if you don’t have the basics like the Zune digital player itself. Where in the world will you be placing the music files if you don’t have it, right? Another thing is that you should have the software that houses Zune application for downloading or transferring your music files from PC to player and vise versa. Lastly, it will be all worth it if you are a member of a Zune market place as you can benefit from it; not only getting the chance to get music files but also other downloads like movies.

Bill Gate’s Work Place

Subhash asked:

First, Gates has synchronised his three screens to function as one large desktop. He can use his mouse to drag items from one screen to the next. Gates has said of this, “Once you have that large display area, you’ll never go back. It has a direct impact on productivity.” Gates says this setup allows him to monitor new developments even while he’s working on something else. He can “bring up a link that’s related to an email and look at it while the e-mail is still in front of me.” The screen on the left has my list of e-mails. On the center screen is usually the specific e-mail I’m reading and responding to. And my browser is on the right-hand screen. This setup gives me the ability to glance and see what new has come in while I’m working on something, and to bring up a link that’s related to an e-mail and look at it while the e-mail is still in front of me.

How he works

At Fortune, Bill Gates talks about his workflow and his organization system. On top of his marketing stuff on his products, he talks about couple of key things that involves in his daily work life. Here are some key points:

Paperless

Email is the first communication medium

Bill Gates gets about 100 emails a day on average. But that’s because of rigorous filtering which means only e-mails that he has corresponded with are sent directly to him. An assistant provides a write-up of e-mails who are not on his permission list or from unknown individuals. E-mails are crucial to Microsoft because that is the company’s medium of internal communication, more so than telephone or anything else. Of course, Microsoft’s e-mail systems integrate voice mail and faxes. Gates uses tools like “inbox rules” and search folders to mark and group messages based on content and importance. Gates admits he is not “big on to do lists” and instead uses e-mail, desktop folders and an online calendar. That way he walks up to his desk, focusses on flagged emails, checks folders monitoring specific projects and looks at a few select blogs. He claims to be “very disciplined” about ignoring Outlook Express’s notification box signaling the arrival of new e-mails.

Focus on Rigour

Discipline and focus, believes Gates, are the key to handling the problem of information overload. But he warns that the other problem is “information underload.” As he once said in a Fortune article, “Being flooded with information doesn’t mean we Left screen This is where Gates keeps his e-mail accounts Centre screen He keeps the specific e-mails or document he is working on here Right screen Gates keeps his internet browser here have the right information or that we’re in touch with the right people.”

Gate’s Solution

Gates observed that digitization of the global economy, evolution in the way people work and breakthroughs in software development are among the trends driving this opportunity for Microsoft, its partners and customers. Bill Gates described how Microsoft is helping customers improve business results by better bridging business processes and business practices. The convergence of business systems with personal productivity software tailored for specific employee roles will enable the people-ready business.

Share point, a programme that creates websites for collaboration on specific Projects and has plans, schedules, discussion boards on each project all put together. The other tool he swears by is desktop search. This allows him to collect all the information on a theme in one fell swoop, without waste of time.

Bill Gates Profile

FASAN PAUL ADEWALE asked:

Bill Gates has created the world’s largest company, he is the world’s richest man and he has become the biggest charitable giver in history.

He may be a college drop-out and “computer geek” but rivals have often underestimated his abilities in the cut throat world of business.

Despite the wealth and ruthless domination of the global computer industry, Gates maintains it is the programming itself which is his abiding passion.

He stood down as chief executive of Microsoft in 2000, to focus on software development and the new challenges of the mobile internet age.

The one-time high school computer enthusiast - whose worth

passed the $100bn mark in 1999 - said he wanted to immerse

himself again in the work he loves most.

Early fascination

Gates has come to be known for his aggressive business

tactics and confrontational style of management.

He, and his company, have attracted a vast army of critics and enemies in recent years as their domination of the IT world has grown.

He was born on 28 October, 1955, growing up with two sisters in Seattle. Their father, William H. Gates II, is a Seattle attorney, and their late mother, Mary Gates, was a schoolteacher.

Gates began computing as a 13-year-old at the city’s Lakeside school.

By the age of 17, he had sold his first program - a timetabling system for the school, earning him $4,200.

It was at Lakeside that he met fellow student Paul Allen, who shared his fascination with computers.

During Gates’ stint at Harvard, the two teamed up to write the first computer language program written for a personal computer.

The PC’s maker, MITS, liked their work and the two friends established Microsoft in 1975, so-called because it provided microcomputer software.

Self-made billionaire

A year later, Gates dropped out of Harvard, once it became clear that the possibilities for Microsoft were bright.

The big break came in 1980 when an agreement was signed to provide the operating system that became known as MS-DOS, for IBM’s new personal computer.

In a contractual masterstroke, Microsoft was allowed to license the operating system to other manufacturers, spawning an industry of “IBM-compatible” personal computers which depended on Microsoft’s operating system.

That fuelled further growth, prompting the company to float in 1986, raising $61m.

Now a multi-millionaire, Allen had already stepped back from the frontline. But Gates continued to play the key role in the company’s growth, with his vision for networked computers proving central to Microsoft’s success.

However, his judgment has not always appeared flawless.

While sales and profits rocketed in the early 1990s, he was seen to have misjudged on a grand scale the possibilities and growth of the internet.

Outside of Microsoft he also has interests in biotech companies, sitting on the board of the Icos Corporation and has a stake in Darwin Molecular, a subsidiary of British-based Chiroscience.

Family man

He founded Corbis Corporation, which is developing a digital archive of art and photography from public and private collections around the globe.

His books, The Road Ahead and Business @ the Speed of Thought have both hit the best seller lists.

Gates married Melinda on New Year’s Day 1994.Together they have three children - Jennifer Katharine, born in 1996, Rory John, born in 1999, and Phoebe Adele, born in 2002

He met his wife in 1987 at a Microsoft press event in Manhattan. She was working for the company and later became one of the executives in charge of interactive content.

Other interests listed on his official website are reading and playing golf and bridge.

Gates and Melinda have been giving increasing amounts of money to charity, with his father running a foundation.

It has been endowed with billions to support initiatives in the areas of global health and education.

It is the world’s second richest philanthropic organization, and within shouting distance of the world number one, The Welcome Trust in the UK.

Bill Gates

Business Personality

Name at birth: William Gates III

Bill Gates is the head of the software company Microsoft and is one of the world’s wealthiest men. Gates and Paul Allen founded Microsoft in the 1970s, though Allen left the company in 1983. Gates oversaw the invention and marketing of the MS-DOS operating system, the Windows operating interface, the Internet Explorer browser, and a multitude of other popular computer products. Along the way he gained a reputation for fierce competitiveness and aggressive business savvy. During the 1990s rising Microsoft stock prices made Gates the world’s wealthiest man; his wealth has at times exceeded $75 billion, making Gates a popular symbol of the ascendant computer geek of the late 20th century. In June of 2006, Gates announced that he would step down from day-to-day involvement in Microsoft by July of 2008. He said he would then remain chairman of the Microsoft board while focusing on his charitable foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Extra credit: Gates married Melinda French, a Microsoft employee, on 1 January 1994. The couple have three children: daughters Jennifer Katharine (b. 1996) and Phoebe Adele (b. 2002) and son Rory John (b. 1999)… Gates’s personal chartiable initiative, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, has focused on global health issues, especially on preventing malaria and AIDS in poor countries; in 2005, ABC News reported that he had given away over six billion dollars in the previous five years… For their philanthropic activities, Time magazine named Bill and Melinda Gates (along with rock star and activist Bono) its Persons of the Year for 2005.

likeachamp asked:

the step by step tutorial about how to transfer DVD movies and TV shows, videos, YouTube and Google videos, iTunes DRM protected music to Microsoft Zune.

Before getting started, let’s take a look at the audio and video formats Microsoft Zune recognizes:

Audio Support

Windows Media Audio Standard (WMA) (.wma); WMA Lossless; Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) (.mp4, .m4a, .m4b, .mov); MP3 (.mp3).

Video Support

Windows Media Video (WMV) (.wmv); MPEG-4 (MP4/M4V) (.mp4) Part 2 video; H.264 video; DVR-MS.

So, you see, in order to put DVD movies and TV shows, video files and YouTube and Google video onto Zune, you will need a converter that will go from DVD and video to Zune WMV or MP4 (Video) or Zune WMA or MP3 (Audio). This kind of program can only rip the DVD’s or convert the video files to your PC, however, Microsoft offers Zune users the free program called “Zune Software” to sync the media from PC to Zune. You just need to download it from its official website http://www.zune.net , where you can get the most detailed information about Zune as well.

In this tutorial, I’d like to demonstrate how to rip DVD’s and convert videos to Zune using Clone2Go DVD to Zune Converter. The reason I choose it lies in that, unlike other DVD to Zune converters that can rip only DVD movies for Zune, this DVD to Zune converter can also be used to convert regular video files to Zune. Plus, it allows you to download videos from YouTube and Google and then convert YouTube FLV videos to some format accepted by Zune. Let’s take a look at how it performs:

1. Add DVD movies or TV shows

Insert the DVD disc into the disc drive, click the Open DVD button to import it if you are going to enjoy the DVD movie on your Zune. Or if the DVD movie is saved as a folder on your computer, you need to click the Add Video button to locate that folder, which is composed of two separate folders: VIDEO_TS and AUIDO_TS. From the VIDEO_TS folder, select the .vob file to import and then click OK.

2. Import video files

You can also import videos stored on your PC by clicking the Add Video button and then click OK. The supporting formats are shown as follows:

3. Download YouTube or Google videos

If you want to enjoy online YouTube or Google videos on your Zune, click the YouTube button on the main interface. In the pop-up window, copy and paste the URLs of the YouTube videos one by one.

There will be a list of the added YouTube videos, which will be downloaded automatically one by one. And the downloading status is clearly shown on the list. After the status of all of them indicates Completed, you can tick whichever videos you want to watch on your Zune.

After the DVD’s, videos or YouTube/Google videos are imported, you can preview it on the main interface. If you only want a clip of the DVD/video, you can drag the Start to trim and Stop to trim button to get the certain segment.

After making sure you have chosen the right profile from the Profile drop-down list, now you can click the Start Encode button to starting ripping DVD movies or TV shows, converting videos or downloading and converting online YouTube/Google videos for your Zune.

4. Convert iTunes M4P music to Zune

The music downloaded from iTunes Store is under DRM protection. In order to play it on your Zune, you need to strip the DRM off and have the iTunes protected AAC (M4P) music converted to Zune WMA or MP3 format. The easiest way is to burn the iTunes M4P playlist to CD-R or CD-RW disc to make an audio CD and then use some CD ripper software to convert the audio CD track back to MP3. And iTunes allows you to burn the protected music files to CD-R or CD-RW disc to make a standard audio CD:

A. Insert a CD-R or CD-RW disc into your CD-ROM drive. You’d better use CD-RW disc as it can be used for more than once.

B. Create a new playlist in iTunes. Add the protected songs to your playlist until you have 72 minutes of music. Click the Burn Disc button, in the pop-up window of Burn Settings, tick Audio CD from the Disc Format checkboxes. Note: You cannot select the MP3 CD option since it requires the protected music files be converted to unprotected MP3 or WMA files.

C. After the audio CD is successfully burned, insert the disc into your CD-ROM drive again. Then you can use iTunes or Windows Media Player to import the music tracks on the burned disc to MP3 or WMA files.
